SMALL GRANTS
The two small grants that we focus on are ‘Big Lottery Fund Awards For All’ and ‘Sport England Small Grants’. Both provide a small grant of up to £10,000 per year, and an organisation can request a new small grant every year. That means your organisation could secure £20,000 per year just from these two funders if your bids are well written and make a convincing case for a new project. Many organisations are rejected for these small grants because they do not understand what the funder is looking for in a good bid.
There are many providers of small grants across the UK, and we have a comprehensive understanding of all of them. We will discuss with you which small grant provider best suits your organisation and your project. If you are a registered charity, there are thousands of grant giving charitable trusts that you can apply to. The process is complicated, but we will make it easy for you.
LARGE GRANTS
Most organisations find the prospect of applying for a large grant terrifying. We will take that fear away for you, and write you a large grant that is accurate and powerful. Kerry McDonald has successfully secured over £35m in large grants in the past 10 years, and is viewed as the best in the business. The funders that he has secured large grants from include:
- Sport England – Big Lottery Fund – Children In Need – Comic Relief – EU Erasmus+ – Peoples Health Trust – Garfield Weston – Peoples Postcode Trust
CAPITAL GRANTS
Securing new funds for facilities is complicated, and requires experience and expertise to make sure that the application meets all the criteria and makes a strong case for funding. Bids for capital funds can involve planning permission, building regulations, architect drawings, and detailed costings and schedules. We will manage the whole process for you. We understand the process of bidding to all of the key funders of capital projects that include:
- Sport England – Big Lottery Fund – Football Foundation – Landfill agencies – Groundwork
EU GRANTS
EU grants are a very specialist area. Kerry McDonald secured over 600,000 euros in 2016, and is a specialist in securing new EU funds in the key subject areas of ‘Youth’ and ‘Sport’. We would be delighted to discuss your potential for securing an EU grant.
CONTRACTS, TENDERS AND COMMISSIONS
More and more local authorities and public sector agencies are providing funds through contracts, tenders and commissions. The process is formal and complex, but it is an area of funding that social enterprises and community organisations should consider. Our expertise will guide you to which tenders and commissions are best suited to your organisation, and write the tender application for you. We specialise in securing tenders and commissions for community sport, public health, physical activity, youth employment, and community safety.
TRAINING
We can provide bespoke training for your staff and volunteers in bid writing. The training is very friendly, practical, and hands on. We will also train you to understand all of the key funders that are out there, and which ones are best suited to your organisation.
FUNDRAISING FEASIBILITY STUDY AND FUNDRAISING STRATEGY
A feasibility study is a quick and low cost method to determine which funders are most suited for your project ideas. All organisations that provide services to the public should have a fundraising plan or fundraising strategy. We will work closely with you so that you have a fundraising plan that gives your organisation the best chance of securing new funds, with a clear schedule of which funders you are best suited to apply to, including full information about their criteria and deadlines.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
We can provide high quality and professional project management services. If you have a specific project that needs carefully managing, but do not have enough staff, then we can undertake the project management for you. The project might be the result of a successful funding bid that you have secured, and now you need an experienced project manager that you can trust to deliver the project on time, on budget, and ensure it meets all of its targets and key performance indicators.
